It All Began With Some Fun Personalized Music For Kids

Ton-O-Fun Tunes should be in your kids' headphones. ;-)

We started out selling personalized music for kids, online, back in 2001. So…we’ve been at it for close to 11 years. Back then the site was known as Custom Kid Songs, and we still own that domain name which points to this site. The idea grew from a friend of ours, Bob, who suggested I write songs for kids with their names in them. My wife and I had discussed it before, but we weren’t sure there would be any interest in it.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much interest there actually was.

I began working on a few tunes using the name of our friends’ new baby, Dominic. After composing, recording, mixing, and remixing we presented Bob and his wife Cheryl with the finished product. They loved it. So…to make a shorter story out of this…we rounded up some Denver metro area retailers, built a website, and started our little business. And we sold thousands of CD’s. Some of you reading this right now may have bought a CD, or two, or more. If so…thank you very much.

Now, I’ve turned our website into our main store, and I’ve added 3 more CD’s. In addition to the personalized tunes for kids, we also sell “Kiddin’ Around“, “In This World“, and “Lullabye Bye“. If you’re on a desktop or laptop computer, you should be able to see sample buttons over there on the right for the personalized CD and the “Kiddin’ Around” CD. The other CD’s can be found on the link buttons at the top of this page, and each page has sample clips of the tunes.

Check ‘em out. We believe once you hear ‘em you’ll know why they’ve delighted thousands of kids across the country and beyond.

And if you’re into the more instant gratification way of buying online, we’ve got you covered. I created a digital download of the tunes from 3 CD’s so you can buy now and listen in just a few minutes instead of waiting for a CD to arrive in the mail.

Either way, we truly appreciate your support, and we look forward to hearing from you as we continue to grow our humble business of tunes for kids.

Stay Tuned,

P.S. Your comments and feedback are always welcome, so let us hear from you anytime.

Sharing Lyrics To The Lullabye Bye CD

I’ve had a lot of requests to share the lyrics to the new CD of lullabies. First, let me say…if you’ve bought the CD, you should have the lyrics included on the actual disk. Slip it into your computer (Mac or PC) and you’ll find a file called “lyrics book”. Once you open it, you’ll find the lyrics to all the tunes on the “Lullabye Bye” CD.

That being said…I’m still gonna post the lyrics here for anyone interested in what they would hear (and what their kids would hear) once they buy the CD. The first tune on the CD is called “In Your Dreams”.

It’s kind of a jazzy, somewhat upbeat tune, but it starts getting a little guy or girl in the mood for heading off to Dreamtown. You can hear a sample of “In Your Dreams” from the Lullabye Bye CD here.

And here are the lyrics:

What Kind of Tunes For Kids Put Them To Sleep?

There’s a lot of fun music “out there” for kids. And there’s a lot of cute tunes. If you’re a parent, you’ve no doubt had to listen to your share of wacky songs.

Since you’ve lived through that experience, I’d like you to tell me what kind of kids music puts them to sleep. What are your ideas on this? Does your little boy love songs about pirates and the sound of the ocean? How about your little girl? Does she conk out to music about sugar and spice and everything nice?

If you could have any kind of songs to put your kids to sleep or have them sleep to, what would you like? What would they be about? What style of music do you think works best? Classical, island, jazz, country, easy listening?

Send me your suggestions, and I’ll add them into my “bag O tricks” and see what I come up with. I’m working on a new collection of lullabies to achieve those tender sighs you long for. So…let me hear from you.

Stay tuned,

tonysig2

P.S. If you’d like a personalized CD of kids music with your kid’s name sung in the songs, mine have been selling online for 8 years. People in many different parts of the world have seen their kids dancing to the music of their very own tunes. Get yours today.

December Special: Buy Any Personalized CD of
Tunes For Kids & Get An Extra MP3 At No Extra Cost

It has been pointed out to me that I haven’t had any “specials” since I started the blog format of Tunes For Kids. Well, seeing as how December just happens to have Christmas in it, I’m giving away an extra MP3 with any purchase of a personalized CD. That means any name on my current list and any new name.

And when you order the CD, make sure I have your email address, and  I’ll send you a very special Christmas MP3…my gift to you.

So…if you have any kids, or know any kids about seven and under, and you want to see their faces light up just like a Christmas tree…send ‘em tunes they can hear their names in. They’ll love it, and you’ll get an extra one just for ordering between now and Christmas.

Thanks for enduring my sales pitch. The next post will be back to “The Peppermint Pony”, and I’ll have a winner of the first MP3 in the tune contest.

I Want A Pony…it’s coming along

November 19, 2008 - 10:19 pm No Comments

Yeah…the classic line for a kid when asked what they want for their birthday is “I want a pony.”

And I want a Peppermint Pony. Good news is…we now have 2 more lines. I guess you’re all really shy about adding to the lyrics. Even the ones who’ve sent in lines say they don’t want their name shown. I’ll respect that, but you’re doing a great job. I think you ought to let everyone know. Besides I’m gonna be giving MP3′s and a CD away. I’ll have to talk about winners.

Seriously…thanks to everyone who’s been a part so far. But we’ve still got a way to go. I’ll need another line for the second verse, and then we’ll make the chorus. I think it’s shaping up nicely. Maybe if you think about Christmas and sugar plum fairies some other lines and word pictures will dance in your head. Send ‘em on.

Here are the lines up to the point we’ve reached so far…

I cast my gaze to the bright sky
That slowly fades into the night sky.
Stars like sparkling candy twinkle in my mind’s eye.

My pony’s red with a white stripe.
We’re riding down through a snow pipe.

I realize the 3rd line of the second verse will be hard, but you can do it. Send me something to rhyme with stripe and pipe. And remember…we’re building toward the chorus. Let ‘er rip.

Stay tuned,

Tunes For Kids: Peppermint Pony…take 3

November 13, 2008 - 12:49 pm No Comments

Now we have 3 lines for the new tune “The Peppermint Pony”.

Here they are:

I cast my gaze to the bright sky
That slowly fades into the night sky.
Stars like sparkling candy twinkle in my mind’s eye.

Guess what…I already have a working tune to go with the lyrics. So who wants to jump in with the next line? As the song is forming it’ll be 3 lines like those above to make one verse. Now we need to start the next verse. If you read what’s there so far, the lead person is outside, looking up, and comparing stars to candy.

What do you think ought to happen next to get us closer to the peppermint pony?

Maybe the person in the tune can start looking all around to see other things that resemble other kinds of candy. Or maybe the journey seems slow as molasses. Send me your thoughts. Remember, you can’t win free MP3′s or a CD if you don’t play. So comment here on this post with some lyrics, or you can even email me. Send your words or ideas to tony@tonofuntunes.com

I’d like to start the second verse and then go on to the really fun part…the chorus.

Tune up with
