Who Needs Dancing With The Stars? Kids Are More Fun

Jenny, in Washington, DC shared this video of her kids dancing to “Dinnertime”. It’s one of the fun songs on our CD of personalized kids music. So I wanted to share it with you, too. This version is for Zachary, and of course any kid’s name can be sung in the song. I hope you get a kick out of it. And thank you, Jenny, for sharing it with us.

Stay tuned,

Technology And Smart Kids = Who Needs A Songwriter Like Me

After seeing the following video, I started to wonder if Ton-O-Fun Tunes will soon become obsolete. :-)

Watch “Lil Asa” show his Dad a thing or two about his cellphone. I think there may be a song in there somewhere.

P.S. If you’d like to get some fun and/or personalized kids music I wrote (before the kids don’t need me anymore), I’d appreciate it. You can buy my tunes for kids here.

Kids Make Me Laugh

Sometimes It’s The Simple Things

Maybe most of you have seen this, but it was my first time, and I cracked up. One brother giggles every time the other one hiccups. I just thought it was funny and thought you might, too.

It’s not the first or the last time a brother laughed at his brother’s situation. I’m sure there’ll be plenty more times during their lives. Only, for now, no one gets a punch on the arm for laughing.  ;-)

Enjoy the video…

P.S. Remember…you can get some funny kids music here. Or the “In This World” CD.

Food For Thought

Keep Your Kids Healthy And Happy

I write kids music, and I don’t even have any kids. My wife and I didn’t receive that blessing although we have received the blessing of being around some of the most fantastic kids on the planet.

Let me name some: Alina, Kiralee, Hannah, Curtis, Benjamin, Caleb, Moriah, Archer, Dominic, Lili, Isaiah, David, Ava, Grace, Dillon, Mary, Daniel, Guenon, Emma, Annaleah, Colton, Nicole, Zoe, Samantha, Melanie, Joshua, Preston, Simon, Jaden, and Azure.

Those are the ones we interact with. There have been many others who we’ll probably never even meet, but we’re thankful each and every kid is here on the planet with us. And I’m writing this post about something near and dear to my heart…Food.

Think about nutrition, vitamins, and food for just a minute.

Where do vitamins originally come from? And where does nutrition start? That’s right…food. I’ve never been able to kick the habit of having to eat each and every day. But I don’t really want to either. I love food. I’ll be the first (or second) to admit I don’t always eat what’s best for me, but it is a high priority in my life.

For some years now, probably due to a “doctor’s procedure” I have difficulty swallowing. As long as it’s succulent food or food with good oils I’m OK. But give me “white meat chicken, turkey, or pork”, and I’ll be at the table long after everyone else is done.

So you’re asking “Tony, why are you telling me this?” I’m glad you asked. I can’t swallow typical vitamins without chewing them. And 99% of worthwhile vitamins taste horrible. I know for a fact! That’s why Elgielene and I have begun to study the benefits of investing in…you guessed it…Food.

We’re making the switch back to basics. I’ll mention more details in upcoming posts. But let me recommend that you start looking into excellent foods for your kids. Think of it as an investment where you’ll reap the dividend of going the doctor much less. And you won’t be overworking your kid’s internal organs with processed vitamins.

Just some Food For Thought on a Monday afternoon…

Kids Are Fun and Funny

March 12, 2009 - 8:06 pm No Comments

I write kids music because kids are fun.

And they’re very funny…without trying. I get to be around a lot of little kids about once a week, and they’re interesting to talk to. Fortunately the ones I’m around are very well-mannered and even well-spoken.

There are two girls, Kiralee and Hannah, who are about 5 and 4 (I think), and I can carry a conversation with them almost as if they were adults. Hannah often helps me carry my musical equipment, and Kiralee is making me some hearts. It’s her new “job”.

Then there’s Joshua, who’s only 5, and I always kid him and call him George (as a joke). He patiently corrects me every time, spelling out J-O-S-H-U-A to let me know where I got it wrong. Then, I say “exactly…J-O-S-H-U-A…George.” He rolls his eyes and corrects me.

Another angelic being is Nicole. She’s a bit older than those others (maybe 6 or so), and her face is full of information, energy, and wide-eyed wonder. She smiles so much…she obviously doesn’t know her face will “stick that way”.

And I can’t forget Moriah…who just turned 10 and still doesn’t realize I’m not cool. She may come to her senses in the next couple of years, but until she does I’ll enjoy the brief conversations about cheeseburgers, Hershey’s kisses figurines, and million dollar bills.

There are too many to put into one blog post. I just wanted to tell you so you’d know why I write goofy, wacky kids music.

It’s simple, really…

They remind me to be happy.

Stay tuned,

P.S. Would you do me a favor? Tell someone you know about this blog. Or just give them this link… kids music…and thanks for your support. After all, kids are the best.

Lullabies And Tender Sighs

What Kind of Tunes For Kids Put Them To Sleep?

There’s a lot of fun music “out there” for kids. And there’s a lot of cute tunes. If you’re a parent, you’ve no doubt had to listen to your share of wacky songs.

Since you’ve lived through that experience, I’d like you to tell me what kind of kids music puts them to sleep. What are your ideas on this? Does your little boy love songs about pirates and the sound of the ocean? How about your little girl? Does she conk out to music about sugar and spice and everything nice?

If you could have any kind of songs to put your kids to sleep or have them sleep to, what would you like? What would they be about? What style of music do you think works best? Classical, island, jazz, country, easy listening?

Send me your suggestions, and I’ll add them into my “bag O tricks” and see what I come up with. I’m working on a new collection of lullabies to achieve those tender sighs you long for. So…let me hear from you.

Stay tuned,

tonysig2

P.S. If you’d like a personalized CD of kids music with your kid’s name sung in the songs, mine have been selling online for 8 years. People in many different parts of the world have seen their kids dancing to the music of their very own tunes. Get yours today.

Kids Love To Dance

March 2, 2009 - 8:17 pm No Comments

I write tunes for kids because it’s a blast to see ‘em dancing when they hear their name in the song. And it’s fun to see their other reactions when they hear all the goofy lyrics, too.

Ton-O-Fun Tunes started out with just a few names off a popular kid’s names list, and it’s grown to a couple of thousand when you add in all the spelling variations. And it’s fun when I let my imagination run wild because it seems like the wilder the words are, the more kids love it.

For instance, the lyrics to the tune “Don’t” tell a kid all these crazy things they shouldn’t do. And they’re things no one can do. Kids love to dance to it. Then there’s “Stop Buggin’ Me”, and it sounds just like something they’d say so they get a kick out of it. My CD’s have sold all over the United States and even in a few other countries, and that makes me believe kids are pretty much the same all over.

I just know, if you listen to the samples, read what others have said, and actually get 20 or 30 of these CD’s for your kids or kids you know, you’ll be the hero of your house. Of course I’d say that…right? Don’t take my word for it though. You can read what others have said HERE. It’s just the tip of the iceberg, and it even includes a handwritten note from a fourth grader.

Stay tuned,

tonysig2

P.S. You don’t have to buy more than one, but if you do, you’ll help save the planet from unhappy kids.
